Strelitzia Reginae – Bird Of Paradise

The Bird of Paradise plant is considered to be one of the most spectacular flowering plants, when it comes to Bloom appearance. It could easily catch the attention of beauty seekers. Also known as Strelitzia Reginae, this flowering plant is indigenous to South Africa and is a National flower of Madeira. Commonly termed as Bird of Paradise, this flowering plant comes in a variety of colours and appears as emerging stiff, with greenish to reddish-purple, beak-like spathes on long stalks above its foliage. Their leathery, tough, green leaves are similar to bananas and are attractive also. These leaves range between 30 -46 cm long. Therefore, Strelitzia Reginae is known for its dramatic looks, which makes them useful for an Ornamental purpose.
